The FACTS: Amendment One and Domestic Violence

What The Marriage Amendment Will Do

The Marriage Amendment adds exactly zero new government.
The Marriage Amendment alters no individual responsibility.
It neither raises or lowers taxes; no alters government spending; nor effect Free Markets.

It actually protects Free Markets and Individual responsibility because it in no way interferes with the benefits allowed to be offered to employees by their employers.

The Marriage Amendment does nothing except place current NC law into the NC constitution. It can only truthfully be opposed because it require homosexual activists to jump the same hurdle in order to advance their agenda; blocking their typical methods of working through legislation and judicial activism.

Voter ID Bill Two Votes Short Of Override

Republican gubernatorial candidate Pat McCrory encouraged his supporters to bring photo identification to the polls during this week’s early voting in support of a bill that would require voters to show photo IDs at polling places.

The push for this initiative began last year when Republican legislators filed the voter ID bill, known as the “Restore Confidence in Government” act, which was vetoed by Gov. Bev Perdue.

Co-sponsor of the bill, Rep. Dale Folwell, R-Forsyth, said it only needs two more votes in the N.C. General Assembly to override the governor’s veto.

“We expect a voter ID law to be in planning for next year if the legislature fails to override the governor’s veto this year. Its chances of passing will likely be determined by the outcome of the November election,” said Brent Laurenz, director of outreach of the N.C. Center for Voter Education, in an email.

Announcement: 12th District Convention

From the 12th District:
The GOP 12th Congressional District Convention will be held in the 2nd floor Commissioners Room of the Rowan County Government Building, 130 W Innes St., Salisbury NC., on April 24th, 2012.

We will have a catered quick supper to start at 6:15pm, meeting to convene promptly at 7pm. I want to conclude the meeting no later than 8:30 so I am going to control the meeting and move the pace along.  We have to clean up the room and release it by 9pm.  Remember we will elect new district officers, at-large members, delegates, alternates and presidential elector, and each of our congressional district candidates will need 5 minutes with the convention membership.

Credentials will be set up and ready by 6:15pm, check in to end at 6:50pm promptly. This will give the committee members about 20 minutes to compile the report before it is presented to the convention body for approval. We will have a literature table, but please let us know who/what organization/campaign is placing out literature. We are not trying to censor, but to control the convention flow.

This year we are also going to require all members wishing to be considered as RNC delegates and alternates to submit a short resume to an impartial Delegate Committee no later than one week before convention. The resume should detail the member’s political history and experience, a statement about why they want to represent the 12th District at the RNC Convention and detail their convention agenda, and what information/material/networking they will bring back to the 12th Executive Committee to assist us with the 2012 campaign, and any other related business information the member wishes to share. The committee will not make recommendations, but will make copies of each resume available to the convention members. This will allow the convention body to make an informed vote and not just a warm body vote.
